FULLY FUNDED: CANON COLLINS RMTF SCHOLARSHIPS 2025 FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDY IN SOUTH AFRICA

Applications are now open for the 2025 Canon Collins RMTF Scholarships. Canon Collins Trust, in partnership with the Ros Moger and Terry Furlong group, invites applications for postgraduate study in South Africa for the year 2025.

The Canon Collins Trust, alongside RMTF, aims to support exceptional individuals committed to social justice in southern Africa, where a postgraduate qualification is essential to fostering an open and just society.

For 2025, scholarships will be awarded to those studying within three specific areas:

  1. Justice, encompassing Climate Justice, Law, Economics, and Politics
  2. Education Policy and Practice
  3. Humanities, including Literature, History, Anthropology, and the Arts

Please ensure your programme of study aligns with one of these disciplines before applying.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for a scholarship under this programme, you must:

  • Be a national of, or have refugee status in, one of the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, or Zambia
  • Be normally resident in one of the above countries
  • Hold a good first degree (minimum second class, upper division or equivalent) or be about to graduate in the year of application
  • Be studying or applying to study at a South African university

Benefits

The Canon Collins RMTF will provide funding for up to two years for a Master’s degree and up to three years for a PhD.

The scholarship package ranges from R20,000 to R100,000, depending on student circumstances. We support both full-time and part-time study and will consider applications for distance learning.

Additionally, the Canon Collins RMTF organizes an annual conference for current scholars and holds several smaller events throughout the year. Scholarship holders are expected to participate in these activities and contribute to our network.
